Here is The Maverick™ in all his glory speaking to the his fellow patriotic Americas. This after a night of shamelessly using the images of 9/11 to place a little fear back in our hearts. Go McCain! Palin too! May your campaign shatter into a nonillion fragments.
The video is a full hour and I cannot bear to watch it again; once last night was enough.

Nothing serious! I cannot bear it!

The word of the day arrived while compiling:

Hmm… Recision? Something to ponder for the morning readings next week.

IT FINALLY ENDS! YAY! Tonight is McCain’s special night and they built him a CATWALK so he can have a more “townhall” experience. Work it!
Speakers this evening include:
Gov. Tim Pawlenty (Minn.)
U.S. Sen. Sam Brownback (Kan.)
U.S. Rep. Mary Fallin (Okla.)
U.S. Sen. Lindsey Graham (S.C.)
Former Gov. Tom Ridge (Penn.)
Mrs. Cindy McCain
Presidential Nominee John McCain
I am having connectivity issues from hell; same old crap with my ISP and this happens at least once a month. I fluctuate with whopping speeds that would be the envy of anyone, circa 1995. It seems to be working as I type this, but that might change. I will try to post video when I can.
So enjoy this night as a new revolution is here. Help me!

ARGHHHHHHHHH!!! My internet connection is ridiculous this morning. I suspect this is another one of those days where it is normal for 15 minutes, then it is 1995 for two hours.

Day three! Day three. Day three… that is all I can fathom at the moment. It is day three and thankfully there is only ONE MORE NIGHT of this masturbatory political floorshow.
Ultra-special speakers tonight include:
U.S. Sen. Republican Leader Mitch McConnell (Ky.)
Speaker: U.S. Sen. Norm Coleman (Minn.)
Meg Whitman, former President and CEO of EBay
Carly Fiorina, former Chairman and CEO of Hewlett-Packard
GOPAC Chairman Michael Steele
Speaker: Former Gov. Mitt Romney (Mass.)
Speaker: Former Gov. Mike Huckabee (Ark.)
Former Mayor Rudy Giuliani (N.Y.)
Vice Presidential Nominee Sarah Palin
Take heart kittens, because as Senator Lieberman (I-CT) said last night, “only one leader has shown the courage and the capability to rise above the smallness of our politics to get big things done for our country and our people. And that leader is John McCain!”
Giggle.
Video will maybe be posted if my brain ceases the putrefaction process.
As always, all of this takes place at Shakesville.

REUTERS/Jim Young (UNITED STATES) US PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION CAMPAIGN 2008 (USA)
Now the festivities begin at the Republican National Convention in Minneapolis. Speakers tonight include:
President George W. Bush (via satellite)
First Lady Laura Bush
U.S. Sen. Joe Lieberman (Conn.)
Former U.S. Sen. Fred Thompson (Tenn.)
U.S. House Republican Leader John Boehner (Ohio)
U.S. Sen. Norm Coleman (Minn.)
U.S. Rep. Michele Bachmann (Minn.)
STAR-STUDDED! Will Bachmann evoke Jesus? Will Lieberman call McCain ‘brah‘? Will Fred Thompson finally earn an Emmy for best use of teleprompter? Will President Bush refrain from odd facial movements and twitches in HD? Will Boehner cry? Will Laura pause oddly as each line appears before her? Will Norm Coleman admit to free utilities?
Stay tuned for Video at Shakesville.

With all the criticisms and investigative reports about McCain’s VP pick Sarah Palin, something was nagging at me: how does her dentist feel? Hooray for FOX! Sarah Palin’s dentist, Curt Menard, called into Fox and Friends this morning. He has known her since she was NINE. NINE! We can also thank him for “her good smile.”

Republican National Convention- Day One

As scheduled, not much happened at the Republican National Convention today because of Hurricane Gustav. Today’s theme was SERVICE and Laura Bush introduced a taped video segment from the Governors of the Gulf states: Rick Perry of Texas, Bob Riley of Alabama, Charlie Crist of Florida, and Haley Barbour of Mississippi. After Laura’s remarks and introduction, Cindy McCain joined her on the stage to talk about a Cause Greater, the relief website setup to take donations for select agencies in the afflicted states. Really not much to say except that I loved Cindy’s dress. I am not fond of yellow, but it worked very well. Collars and cuffs get me excited!

Here are two videos of their remarks.
I am uploading the videos to my YouTube channel, but I am trying some new code to host video here and access at Shakesville. Sometimes the wait times for processing on YouTube are lengthy. If anyone has difficulties watching the video, please let me know.
This first video is First Lady Laura Bush and the Governors of the Gulf States
The second video is Cindy McCain and Laura discussing a Cause Greater.
UPDATE: I forgot the atrocious rendering of the National Anthem by Miss Minnesota.
I will post transcripts when available. The GOP Convention site is much slower at posting transcripts than the Democratic Convention.
